Most of us are in the run for those last minute Christmas presents but have very little time with just a few days to go. But while having a well thought out present for the cyclist in your life may have been nice, even the little things make a difference. Our picks for stocking stuffers are full of the essentials cyclists cannot live without.
If you’re wondering how to get these presents, you may need to shop these Amazon links for 2 day shipping or make a visit to your local bike shop to pick them up to stuff just in time.
Socks
Cyclist know that a great pair of cycling socks for winter months make all the difference on a ride. Findra’s merino wool socks are great stuffers for your cyclist which they will get great use out of during the winter months. The finely spun merino provides incredible temperature regulation as well as wicking properties, moving moisture away from your skin, keeping your feet feeling dry, fresh and odour free.
Cycling Gloves
Cycling gloves make an excellent stocking stuffer for cyclists. Gloves that protect a cyclist’s hands from blistering on the handlebars make a great stocking stuffer and are one of those practical items cyclists will always need. For those colder months of cycling, a good pair of winter cycling gloves will go a long way in keeping their extremities protected from the chill.
Patch Kit
Patch kit’s are also one of those items that cyclists have to constantly replace. This gift idea is probably better suited for more experienced cyclist. For the first few years of riding I didn’t trust myself to make any repairs on my bike, so I never needed tools till I learned how to properly change a tire. However, for cyclists who do a lot of riding, tools are invaluable for the road. You never know when you’re going to come across a repair shop.
Bike Lights
Bike lights are one of those things cyclists will always need and need replacements of. Lights aren’t just for cyclists who make their way home from work in the dark. They are also great for road cyclists and touring cyclists who want to be as visible as possible even in broad daylight on roads during winter months.
Bike Pump
Mini bike pumps are simple, small and light bike pumps that are mounted on the frame of your bike, carried in a jersey pocket or saddle bag. Using a simple design, they’re not as fast as a CO2 bike pump, but they don’t require replacement cartridges. If your cyclists does a good amount of commuting, trail riding or mountain biking and want a simple, inexpensive way to make sure that they always got a bit of air to top off the tire or fix a flat on the road, a bike pump is your best solution.
Bike Bell
One of the best things I have ever received as a stocking stuffer was a bike bell. While being noticed is one thing, having a loud and clear bike bell to get noticed is a great way to keep safe on the road. To help your family members avoid an awkward situation, give them a bell for their handlebars.
Snacks
Cyclists are some of the hungriest people you will meet and love nothing more than snacking and keeping fueled on their rides. Protein bars made from real food are a great way to keep them energized and feeling good without the side effects of upset stomach from the muck of high sugar content of most energy or nutrition bars.
Bar Tape
No matter what, cyclists need to replace their bar tape eventually so having some saved up will certainly come in handy. Most cyclists prefer soft, plush, and breathable bar tape to protect their hands from blisters, sweat, and shock,. If your cyclist doesn’t use bar tape, you can always go with bar grips too.
Bike Cleaner
Keeping a bike clean is an effective way of ensuring it works correctly and safely, while making sure it stays looking good. Clean components wear out less quickly than dirty ones — so a well-kept bike will also perform better than a grubby one, and won’t require as much maintenance for your cyclists. A bike cleaning kit is one way to ensuring that their ride stays in top form.
Water Bottles
Insulated water bottles are a great solution for your cyclist to remember to stay hydrated on their ride. On rides cyclists often find their drink take on the temperature they’re riding in — which is often the opposite of what one would want. A good quality water bottle with insulation will help keep their drink cool or warm.
